Admissions

School Admission

Pupils are admitted to Ysgol Trefnant in September, following their third birthday. As we are a Voluntary Aided School, we control our own admissions.

Prospective parents are asked to fill out and return an application form, by the dates set inline with Denbighshire County Council’s admissions. They are then notified of the outcome, following the Governors decisions. These are based on certain criteria which can be seen, in full, in the downloads section below.

Transition to Secondary School

Ysgol Trefnant is a feeder school primarily for Denbigh High School, due to it being the nearest secondary school. We work closely with Denbigh High School in providing transition days. This enables pupils from Years 5 and 6 to visit Denbigh High School for activities in various subjects, such as Art, P.E, Science and Technology.

The admission process to secondary school is the same, application forms to be submitted to Denbighshire County Council and they will inform you of the outcome.

The Governors have drawn up an Admissions Policy, and any parents wishing to see this can do so.
