We are Ysgol Trefnant School Council. The Council is made up of pupils from all year groups. We aim to help make the school a better place and do this by listening to the children's opinions and suggestions. We have regular meetings where we discuss issues that affect the children of Ysgol Trefnant and try to find ways to improve our school.
We share our progress with the Governors, plan for important events and also give whole school assemblies to the children.
This year, we have discussed our school development priorities (SDP) and thought about what we can do to help make improvements. Our SDP priorities are:
- Priority 1 - Ensure that pupils apply their numeracy skills as well in their work as across the curriculum. Improve numeric reasoning skills across the school with particular emphasis on KS2.
- Priority 2 - Improve opportunities for pupils to write independently and creatively at length in English lessons and across the curriculum.
- Priority 3 - To further develop the school's Christian vision and character.
- Priority 4 - Improving support offered to pupils with specific literacy difficulties
