Sex Education Policy

Sex Education Policy

The Governors have drawn up a Sex Education Policy and have determined that Year 5 and 6 pupils, shall – with parental consent – attend sex education lessons given by the class teacher following guidance outlined by Denbighshire County Council. The contents of these lessons are made available to parents on request.

In addition, pupils throughout Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 have the opportunity of exploring the lifecycles of animals and the patterns of growth common to all living creatures including humans.

The Governors recognise the rights of parents to withdraw their children from sex education provision within the school as long as it is not part of the compulsory Science curriculum.
