Welcome

Welcome

Croeso i Ysgol Trefnant

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Ysgol Trefnant Church in Wales School. Ysgol Trefnant is part of the Vale of Clwyd Federation of Ysgol Trefnant and Ysgol Llanbedr.

Our Federation Vision Statement is Empowering pupils to work together, reaching their full potential, guided by love and faith. Our Motto is Gweithio gydda'i gilydd, Dysgu am byth / Working together, Learning for Life.

We hope you enjoy looking at our website, which provides a 'snapshot' of school life. Hopefully you will find it interesting and informative. As always we would be delighted to hear your comment about the new facility.

We extend a warm welcome to your child to Ysgol Trefnant Voluntary Aided and hope that he/she will have many happy years here. The Governors, parents, teachers and pupils look forward to establishing a close working partnership with you.

Ysgol Trefnant is a co-educational primary school, based in the heart of Trefnant Village. We are a English 1st language school but feel strongly about promoting Welsh as a 2nd language.

Ysgol Trefnant is a popular rural school situated in the village of Trefnant, Denbighshire. The majority of the children live in the village, with some travelling to school from a wider catchment area.

At Ysgol Trefnant we strive to create and maintain a family environment which is caring and stable, in which pupils can develop as confident individuals who are aware of the needs and feelings of others. High expectations are set for both academic standards and standards of behaviour.

As a Church in Wales Aided School, with the assistance of the Diocesan Education Officer and the village Church we aim to develop a Christian based ethos, with regular opportunities for worship, also providing each child with education of the highest quality which reflects the requirements of the individual; creating an atmosphere in which each child can experience success and a sense of achievement, fostering the natural inquisitiveness of children and their desire to learn.

The staff and Governors will endeavour to implement the National Curriculum requirements to the full and, within the confines of the school budget, provide a broad and balanced curriculum. We also offer a wide range of extra curricular activities, where pupils have the opportunity to experience and develop their talents.

All at Ysgol Trefnant have a thriving and very supportive P.T.F.A. and home/school links are maintained through regular newsletters, parents’ evenings and various events.

Parents are welcome at any time to discuss children’s progress with class teachers or head teacher, after school or by a prior appointment.

We hope your child/children will be very happy at Ysgol Trefnant and take advantage of the many opportunities offered.
